Schedule:
Day 1: The A, B, Cs of Facilitating Developmental Parenting
We will focus on Developmental Parenting as a goal of
intervention and effective ways to facilitate it. We will also learn about your
background, experiences, and concerns. The attitudes, behaviors, and content of
the Developmental Parenting approach will be presented.
Day 2: Making Good Programs Better
We will focus on putting Developmental Parenting into practice
within your current program. We will share curriculum ideas and measurement
tools for Developmental Parenting programs.
Day 3: Concerns and Challenges
We will focus on concerns and challenges to implementing the
approach, as identified by workshop attendees. We will also discuss aspects of
supervision that are important both for supervisors and practitioners.
When & Where:
The workshop will be held at the University Inn on the campus of Utah State University. It is scheduled for May 14, 15, and 16, 2007. Each day begins at 9:30 and ends at 3:30. Participants should park at the University Parking Garage. For directions to the University Inn and parking, go to:

Your workshop presenters are:
Lori Roggman, Ph.D., Professor of Human Development, has worked with programs for young children and their parents for over 30 years, beginning as a home visitor and continuing as a researcher.
Mark Innocenti, Ph.D., Associate Director of the Early Intervention Research Institute, has been working with children with disabilities and those at-risk for school failure and their families for over 30 years with an emphasis on families and community-based programs.
Lisa Boyce, Ph.D., has worked with schools and parents on a number of intervention and research projects. Her interests focus on play, parent-child interactions, and improving academic outcomes for children at-risk and with disabilities.
Vonda Jump, Ph.D., has worked extensively with home visiting and preschool programs to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, especially through empowering challenged parents.
